Using a dehumidifier is the best way to remove excess water from your home and avoid problems caused by high humidity. These include:

Mold and musty scents; Condensation on the window; Wet stains on walls and ceiling; Uneven floor or structural damage; Warm, humid and uncomfortable environment.

If you ignore these problems, there will be allergic reactions, respiratory problems and other health problems. Avoid them by using a dehumidifier to maintain a proper humidity level.

How does the dehumidifier work?

The dehumidifier sucks in moist viscous air, and then cools with a condenser to remove moisture. Then, it redistributes the dry air back to your environment through the fan. Moisture accumulates in the bucket inside the dehumidifier.

Dehumidifiers are usually placed in trouble spots, such as basements, crawling spaces, bedrooms, and commercial areas, to maintain healthy humidity. Preair provides affordable dehumidifiers for home, the HD70 and HD103 dehumidifiers. If you want to live in a better living environment, please contact Preair for dehumidification solutions.

What is the ideal humidity level for my space?

For most spaces, maintaining a humidity level of 45-50% is ideal. When the relative humidity is higher than 50%, mold spores, dust mites, bacteria, and even cockroaches and other harmful pests will flourish.

However, relative humidity below 30% may be equally harmful. It may cause an increase in cold and flu viruses, skin and respiratory tract irritation, broken ceilings, separated wooden floors, etc.

What size dehumidifier do I need?

To find a specific dehumidifier, follow these guidelines:

Dehumidifier by room size

Small shopping mall room: A small commercial dehumidifier has interior design humidity control up to 500 square feet. They are best used to damp or narrow spaces, such as bedrooms or offices.

Medium-sized rooms: These dehumidifiers are ideal for dehumidifying humid, medium to large spaces (up to 1,000 square feet).

Large computer room: Use a large house dehumidifier to deal with various humidity issues. This size is ideal for large basements, crawl spaces, bedrooms, and spaces up to 1,500 square feet.

Capacity of the whole house: The dehumidifier of the whole house can be integrated with the existing HVAC system of the house. Many of these dehumidifiers can remove 3,000 square feet of excess water.

Dehumidifier by room type

Capacity is not the only variable to consider when choosing a dehumidifier. Depending on the type of space to be dehumidified, there are more specific models:

Crawl space dehumidifier: designed to solve the moisture problem in narrow crawling spaces.

Basement dehumidifier: If the basement has a musty smell or other moisture problems, consider using a reliable basement dehumidifier.

Indoor pool dehumidifier: Helps keep the indoor swimming area comfortable and reduces humidity-related structural damage.

Flood dehumidifier: very useful in flood cleaning and restoration.

Industrial dehumidifier: very useful in production environment and warehouse. These commercial dehumidifiers can help your employees maintain comfortable facilities and protect your goods from moisture damage.

How loud is the dehumidifier?

The same with any device that uses a fan, the higher the fan setting, the greater the noise that can be expected. The dehumidifier also uses a compressor, which produces slightly more noise than the fan. When the compressor is running, the user should expect an increase in noise.

At lower settings, the noise is comparable to white noise. Commercial-grade dehumidifiers are larger than single-chamber dehumidifiers. Fortunately, they are usually located in basements, crawl spaces and industrial environments that are not primarily concerned with noise.
